Need a wardrobe clearout? Fancy some new summer frocks! Recycle your unwanted garments. Get some new gladrags for FREE!
We’re running a clothing swap as part of our monthly Sustainable Saturday event on Saturday 1st June 2013. This will be at the Mackarness Hall on the High Street from 9am until 12 midday. Entry is free and there will be adults and children’s clothes, accessories, shoes, hats, bags and more.
How it works:
It’s pretty simple really – you can take one item home in exchange for each item you bring in. Should you have nothing to swap – you can buy items for low prices on the day. We only accept items that are CLEAN and in GOOD CONDITION.
Don’t forget there is lots more to the Sustainable Saturday event as well as the clothes swap stall. Waste Not Want Not have a stall where you can drop off any unwanted household items and take away anything you fancy. We also have lots of beautiful handmade craft stalls (fabric items, recycled products, jewellery, glassware & more), free Fairtrade tea & coffee all morning and delicious homemade cakes to buy.
Sustainable Saturday is a community event – we invite local charities and organisations to have stalls for free each month. Stall fees are low to support local artisans and businesses and any profits we do make are put back into the community. Current Transition Town Honiton projects which are funded from Sustainable Saturday include the herb garden on New Street. Projects in planning are a Community Orchard and planters at the train station. We’re also in talks with the library and the Thelma Hulbert art gallery about ways we can help them grow plants on their premises.
We always need more volunteers for our events – please let us know if you can spare an hour to help. Email email@example.com
